Motherhood Moments 3

Motherhood is by far the greatest blessing I could ask for.

Name  Samsam Said

Which country are you from? Australia currently living in Kenya

How many children do you have? 1 boy who is almost one

Motherhood is about being selfless, from the day you become pregnant your entire life will revolve around your children. I never knew the true meaning of unconditional love until I became a mother. Motherhood is by far the greatest blessing I could ask for.

One thing you’ve learnt since being a mother:

I learned to appreciate my own mother more because motherhood helped me understand how much she loves me and how much she sacrificed for her children. May Allah grant all of our mothers the highest level of Jannah.

Can you share a funny moment you had with your child(ren).

I honestly find anything my son does to be completely hilarious even though he still doesn’t talk and only babbles. I remember when he was a newborn whenever someone sneezed or coughed he’s eyes would open so widely in a surprise, we always ended up giggling at it.

A positive quote that gets you through a challenging day.

Actually it is a Quranic verse, which I keep reminding myself for as long as I can remember whenever I go through something or have a rough day.

“Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear”. Al-Baqara - 2:286

Favorite place to go with your child(ren)

We love going to the park or any place that has children’s entertainment. My son’s little face lights up and he has so much fun when we take him to such places.

One tip you’d share with a new mother.

Don’t worry and stress I know it is easier said than done but everything works out perfectly fine in the end. I wasted so much time stressing and worrying those first few months after the birth of my son.

When and if your child naps you...

Cook, catch up on my favourite shows and sometimes I also take a power nap when I’m exhausted. I try to do all things that are not baby related during his naps because once he is up he requires my full attention.

What would you have told yourself as a mother now looking back?

There will be many sleepless nights and some days you will feel so drained but seeing your little baby’s smile will make it all worth it.

A lot of people will advise you please trust your instinct as a mother and don’t listen or pay attention because it will drive you crazy if you try to please everyone. Just remember he is your baby and you know what is best for him.

Any hobbies?

I started my blog a few months ago and it became a little hobby that I can do from the comfort of my home.
