Hosting your own Eid gathering on Eid day or perhaps next week? It’s always a little tricky to decide on the menu so we’ve put together a bit of inspo that will help you, we did this whilst fasting so it was a struggle. We’ve included veggie options too!
Disclaimer: We have not tried the recipes and would encourage you to ask aunties, uncles, friends who can throw it down and friends parents for authentic tried and tested family recipes! It’s important to pass down recipes too so down be a Scrooge about the secret ingredients, for many of us food is a vital part of keeping our culture alive through traditions set on days like Eid.
The menu below is for those feeding quite a few people, we kept it simple but yummy with a meat/fish/veg main, rice to accompany or be your main and some lovely sides, add a salad and you are good to go!
Suya can be great as a starter but if you’re using red meat, we’d recommend it as part of a mains dish!
