WHY FIVEFEETCHIC?

I’ve been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember and love expressing myself through the clothes I wear. I was often discouraged at a young age because clothes were ALWAYS too long on me. Even till this day, I despise going to a tailor just to hem a dress or pair of pants I couldn’t resist buying. Along the way, I’ve discovered new stores and sites that help cater to petite girls as well as “trends” and styles that are flattering to those who choose to wear hijab (the headscarf) or those simply looking for modest options. This blog is a way for me to show my style and how I incorporate my faith with my fashion as well as finding and making certain items work for all five feet of me!

WHAT ARE THE ROLES/TITLES YOU HOLD IN LIFE?

I am a graduate of the University of Michigan currently working in healthcare.

WHO’S YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY?

My mom without a doubt. She’s a woman with resilient strength when things are tough and has taught me always to have faith and keep my head up when things aren’t going my way.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT AMALIAH?

I like how hijabis are highlighted in a positive light with modest fashion expressing the creativity of the women and not limiting them to societal standards.

WHAT DOES SISTERHOOD MEAN TO YOU?

Sisterhood to me is about women building up other women rather than tearing them down. If we don’t support and respect one another, how do we expect others to?
