إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un

Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return.

The death of Nabra Hassanen, a seventeen-year-old Muslim girl who was abducted and killed on her way home from her local mosque in Virginia shocked the Muslim community worldwide.  To say that our hearts are heavy at the loss of this beautiful soul would be an understatement.

The response of the Muslim community during this testing time has been moving particularly the actions of  The Director of Pious Projects who completed an Umrah on Nabra’s behalf. In addition, the organisation has also set up a page to raise funds to build a water well and Masjid in Nabra’s name as a source of ongoing charity for her.

You can support this effort and contribute to the LaunchGood page set up by her community to assist her family using the links below.

May Allah have mercy on her and comfort her family. May He replace the trauma she felt in those moments with eternal happiness. May He bring tranquility to the hearts of all those who were with her that night. May He protect all of our sisters who are afraid and grant them courage and steadfastness. May He use us to bring peace to this chaotic world. Ameen – Omar Suleiman

In death, we will continue to remember and honour you Nabra.
