A funny little rumour has been circling recently, that has revealed an interesting tradition bubbling for a while in the Middle East, more specifically the UAE. The thing is, it is not a rumour, lavish suhoor parties have become a common occurrence during Ramadan. Some time during the night, Muslim women across the UAE get dressed up, don their most sparkly and lavish abayas, dress to the nines in jewellery, heels and makeup, and celebrate in an expensive looking tent. Heres the hilarious part, many Muslims in the west were completely oblivious to this practice and only found out about the luxurious parties due to the now infamous MAC advertisement that went viral promoting makeup for Suhoor. Ever since Tweets emerged from different Twitter users verifying this newly revealed information.
Dying. I’d be lucky to manage to drink water in time – let alone fully contour my face. https://t.co/MGBxVIqns6

im not a muslim girl but i'm 99% sure the last thing on a muslim girl's mind waking up at 4:30am to quickly eat and pray is to look good while doing so ???? https://t.co/tRiv6f08lG

lmao this is why that weird backlash on that mac suhur glam look is so weird to anyone who’ve experienced Ramadan in MENA https://t.co/oghcZT6kGP

To all my Western Muslim friends, who are sharing MAC's ad in disbelief MAC could mix up suhur with iftar: MAC didn't get it wrong. In many a Muslim majority country, in & out of the Arab world, suhur is indeed a social occasion, beginning around midnight & lasting till the dawn.

Clearly MAC cosmetics doesn’t realize what time suhur is ???????????? These big companies are too lazy to consult with Muslim women but still try to gain there $$$ @MACcosmetics pic.twitter.com/lNkdZyM4Zz

British Muslims are pretty simple & humble people compared to the decadence of many Muslim majority countries and culture of elitism

OK clearly they do things differently in the East if this is a thing compared to us Zombies in the West https://t.co/UMf2dEXNzO
