Jeremy Corbyn, Labour leader, expressed honest sentiments on his social media on World refugee day on the 20th of June. Sending solidarity with those who have had to flee war, natural disaster, and persecution. He visited a Syrian refugee camp in Jordan on Friday, “claiming the UK must do more to end the war in Syria.” He also urged London to join with the EU for refugee settlements. Sky News,”Whatever the outcome of Brexit, I think we should be part of a European-wide approach to this.”
He continued by noting the duty we have in acting mercifully to humanity and protect the rights of refugees, signposting Trumps newest policy that had recently been actioned in detaining infants and children in centres and camps. The Labour politician also referenced his recent trip to Baq’aa one of the largest Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan. Calling for an end to the occupation and seize on Gaza making, the Palestinian right o return a reality.”
During the tour, Corbyn visited Zaatari camp, spoke to refugee families, and met with UN officials.

It is something to be said, that we are even documenting Corbyns recent travels, and sentiments, since in our current political climate it is scarcely seen, and rare for politicians to show humility when it comes to respecting refugees globally. Corbyn has shown a sincere dedication in raising awareness of the injustices refugees face globally and working toward improving their environments.
