Fashion and Formations of Art: Van Herpen & the Row Collection

by in Culture & Lifestyle on 30th August, 2018

Fashion will forever remain an art piece, growing in masses as designers shed a light on their expressive visions- bold statements and movements that allow unique leads to make a stand. We have seen it for years, crawling and fiercely motivating the runway– the fashion industry itself brings out a hidden form of art. With every piece telling a story. Here are a few artistic inspired clothing and scenes that caught my eye.

 Van Herpen’s fall 2016 Collection

This collection is heavily influenced by the architecture itself, heavily forming structure and focusing on lines and patterns for every piece. This caught my eye as the structure put into the dresses, show bold and innovative expressions of art- while combing architectural draping.

The Row- Fall 2018 ready to wear collection

This collection caught my eye as I noticed the way the designer infused art to somewhat tell a story. As the models walk down the catwalk, you see the pieces and tones heavily match the sculptures scattered around, forming a runway. Beautifully and elegantly placed to somewhat capture both the essence of the clothing and the art.

We know for centuries that art has inspired the runway and its epic need for bold moves and statements after all that is what art is. Art enables individuals to visualize their own sense of self in the clothes and bring a unique development to the runway. From designers bringing their own visions to life and developing their own significance to every piece, to stapling a hidden meaning that remains visually pleasing to the human eye. Bringing art and fashion to connect with its audience members.

From tones, textures and to mixing and matching materials, this remains an artist’s form of expressing each piece from the imagination- growing new ideas and new stories. Therefore, signifying the growth and formation of art within the fashion industry.   Fashion and art, forming a bond- greater than what we see, it goes beyond what we know. As the years go by and fashion as exceeds to its highest- we can’t wait to see how art continues to inspire fashion in its grand journey.
