by in Culture & Lifestyle on 30th October, 2018

650 different charities across the UK are working hard to help improve the job prospects of people, to grant better opportunities by providing career advice and interview outfits. So new recruitment app Debut which has multiple features that will help you gain graduate jobs, schemes and internships. Debut revealed stats that, “72% of career hopefuls, aged 16-23, have no idea where to start when putting together an outfit for their interview.” Challenge accepted, Debut went to work with fashion expert Amber Butchart and over 650 leading charity stores across the country to create a ‘Dress to impress for £10′ initiative. Which will help provide interview outfits for a tenner. Butchart has ensured that for first-time interviewees, they are equipped with all the knowledge, and information that will enhance their chances of being selected. She has done this by equipping store volunteers with the tips and know how to share with the job seekers on “getting it right.” This can be anything from researching the dress policy of the company the job seekers applying, to avoiding large text, logos and ensuring the job seeker has better insight into what cut of suit fits well on their body.

“The UK’s charity shops are brimming with hidden gems that are waiting to go from being pre-loved to re-loved and this campaign makes it easier to find them,” says Butchart. “It’s supportive, promotes sustainability and gives everyone the same chance to look and feel great during an interview.”

Each store is set to have a ‘Dress to Impress’ section featuring an a created selection of interview friendly outfits that members of the public have donated.  The Pool reported, Robin Osterley, CEO of the Charity Retail Association, said, “Dress To Impress For £10 is extremely relevant today as competition for jobs is increasing, and people are looking for ways to save money during the job application process. Often education around what to wear is also missing – and this campaign helps to overcome that while supporting great causes across the UK.”

Earlier this month, the Dress to impress initiative launched nationwide, and will run for as long as there is a demand for it. how will you know which stores are involved? Charity shops involved will have the sticker “Dress To Impress” in windows so that consumers are aware if they are part of it. The founder and CEO of Debut, Charlie Taylor has said, “everyone else can get involved [by donating] pre-loved interview attire that they no longer need, to help many fantastic causes.”
