What have you been reading this week?

Have you watched anything interesting? 

Chamath Palihapitiya, Founder and CEO Social Capital, on Money as an Instrument of Change;

It’s long, but it’s a really interesting take on how money can be a tool to change the world. I don’t agree with it totally, but it made me think.

You are always using your voice positively to ensure that every young person has access to a myriad of opportunities. Did you do any Public speaking?

I did debating at high school – all the way from grade 8 to grade 12! It’s pretty much how I became a public speaker.

Where was the yummiest meal you’ve had this week?

What infuriated or made you angry this week?

Ah, there was a lot to make me angry. In particular, the news about Jerusalem… and hearing about what’s going on in Yemen, and the fact that it is essentially not getting better any time soon. Khair inshallah.

What made you smile this week?

My new bicycle!

Parting advice from Yassmin:

Try to find the joy in the every day small things. The world can seem pretty dark sometimes (and in winter, literally!) But whether it’s getting flowers to brighten your room, going for a short walk or even calling your mum… remember that Alhamdulillah, we have more blessings than we will ever really know.
