#VeganRamadan the Internet Shares a Healthier Approach to Ramadan

Ramadan is often overlooked as a time in which we must introspectively assess our actions holistically. That means taking absolutely everything into account most of all our eating! The lifestyle and culture surrounding Ramadan can often mean excessive: eating, consuming. Our accountability is to Allah from the amount of water we waste, our mindfulness of the treatment of the animals that will serve to fill our stomachs every night, to the processed foods we are allowing into the bodies Allah (swt) entrusted us with. Here is how people have taken to their #VeganRamadan this year:

Can someone please explain why it’s taken me YEARS to recreate @ottolenghi’s Green Couscous Salad?? ???????? wholemeal couscous, caramelised onions, fresh herb blend, toasted pistachios, extra virgin olive oil, mixed greens and pom seeds – the perfect #VeganRamadan salad ???? Fun fact about me – even though I adore cookbooks I hardly ever follow a recipe as is ????. . . . #couscous #couscoussalad #ottolenghi #plenty #ramadansalad #veganramadan #Ramadan2018 #plantbasedramadan #veganmuslim #vegan #whatveganseat #whatveganscook #veganfoodshare #vegansofig #veganrecipes #veganblog #onearabvegan #middleeasternvegan #arabicveganfood #plantbased #wholefoodsplantbased #veganuae #veganabudhabi #abudhabivegans #vegandubai

: major #throwback to the days of quinoa & sweet potatoes at uni ☺ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ honestly i feel it was easier to cook for myself and eat healthy when i was at uni in the uk rather than here in msia. i lived like 10 mins walk from my department building so i could go back and forth during lunchtime and also just come back in time for dinner. whereas when i'm working now and that the workplace is not within walking (or public transport) distance, i'd have to eat out. i could prep food but i usually get tired by the end of the day and i'd hv my side hustles to do. plus i like my food fresh. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ still figuring out how to adult basically ???? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #ramadanreflection #veganramadan #ramadan2018 #herveganramadan
