As the weather changes, sometimes my skin does too. This is why my makuep routine can vary during seasons. I’m sharing with you today my 5 makeup must-haves for the winter.

Illuminating Foundation

Glowy foundations maybe hyped in the summer but I personally think it’s very necessary in the winter months when we have less sun and furrreezing temperatures (booo) which means dry and dull looking complexions.

My personal pick: Nars sheer glow

This foundation has been a holy grail of mine for over 5 years now, it gives the perfect natural finish without masking the skin. It brightens the skin without clinging onto any dry patches. This foundation is not only perfect for a healthy natural look but it is also buildable for a full coverage finish. Definitely a winter must have for me!

Warm eyeshadows

Deep, neutral and berry shades are a must have in the winter! They go with all looks whether you want to pair the eye look with a nude lip or a deep berry lip.

My personal pick: Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette

The obsession is real; I haven’t put this palette down all winter! It is such a versatile palette, you can create a deep smokey eye with the dark neutral colours and the perfect berry eye with the red shades. This palette is undeniably worth the hype!

Earthy eyeliner

Anyone who knows me knows that I can’t live without eyeliner, black is classic but there’s something about a warm burgundy eyeliner in the winter. It’s perfect to smudge on the top lash line or it creates the perfect sultry look in the water line.

My personal pick: Make Up Geek Full Spectrum Eye Pencil in Plumeria

There’s something so cosy about this eyeliner that shouts winter to me, it complements all eye colours and is the perfect burgundy hue smoldery eyeliner.

The 90s brown lip

Lips are the ultimate game changer in the winter months, my personal preference is a deep brown lip with orange/red undertones. It creates the perfect look in the winter and I personally think the 90s brown lip trend goes with all skin tones. It brightens up fairer skin tones and glams up deeper skin tones!

My personal pick: Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Ashton

This is one of my favourite ever lipsticks, yes I just said that. I am a massive lipstick hoarder, lipsticks are my thaaang and this is definitely in my top 3. I love wearing it by itself in winter months to get that deep brown look or mixing it with a lighter peach colour in the summer to get the perfect deep nude.

Lip Balm

Flakey and dry lips are my worst nightmare in the winter, who’s with me on this? We all go through it, especially in the UK where we have minus temperatures most days. Lip balms are a good investment in the winter, especially when you’re going to wear liquid lipsticks.

My personal pick: Baume De Rose by Terry

One might question £39 for a lip balm, are you crazy?? Yes, I’m crazy but I’m crazy about liquid lipsticks! I have a strong love for liquid lipsticks and that means I can’t put them down in the winter months and this is the perfect primer for liquid lipsticks. It leaves your lips nourished all day and a little goes a long way. I only apply it before liquid lipsticks as it quite a luxury product so the £39 does last me at least six months. It’s definitely worth it if you struggle with dry lips in the winter.

Perhaps you’ve tried some of the products listed above? If so, share your thoughts. If not, what are your winter must haves?

Till next time,
