Team Amaliah’s Microwave Masala Tea

by in Culture & Lifestyle on 16th December, 2017

What do we all turn to complaining and need warming up? Tea. But in this weather your average PG Tips just doesn’t cut it. Why not warm things up with some masala for your chai. Team Amaliah have decided to bless you with our very special microwave masala tea recipe. We’ve made it in the office a few times and it’s gone down a treat #DecoloniseYourWorkSpace.

This recipe makes one large teapot.

What You Will Need:

  • 4 cardamon pods
  • 2 inch piece of ginger
  • 5 tea bags
  • Sugar
  • Milk
  • Hot water

First things first, turn the kettle on and boil your water.

Crush the cardamon pods to release the seeds; you can use the back of a spoon or the flat edge of a knife. This will help the flavour to infuse better.

Then, chop your ginger into small chunks. Add the cardamon and ginger to a cup of milk and pop into the microwave for around two minutes. Keep an eye on it to avoid it boiling over and making a mess.

Whilst your Masala is infusing with the milk, add your teabags and hot water into your teapot and allow to simmer. Give it a couple of stirs to ensure your tea brews properly.

Once your milk is hot pour into the teapot and add sugar to taste.

We would advise taking out the teabags so that the tea isn’t too strong.

You’re welcome in advance.
