1. Daily Qur’an Reflections: Dr. Tamara Grey
The daily Qur’an reflections by Dr. Tamara Grey on her Instagram page and YouTube are a must watch this year. The series is divided into three parts covering each third of Ramadan: The First 10 days: Repel the Ugly, The Second 10 Days: Bring on the Beauty and The Last 10 Days: Become the Beloved. If one of your goals this Ramadan is to strengthen your relationship with the Qur’an then this series is the perfect resource to help you achieve that goal.
2. Omar Suleiman: Meeting Muhammad
Dr. Omar Suleiman has another daily Ramadan series out this year which focuses on the life of the Prophet ﷺ. The videos take us through a journey where we are introduced to his physical attributes and demeanour, where we witness his life from afar as though we are his companions and the series ends with his departure from this world. These are short videos no longer than 10 minutes each. Their length makes them great to watch and discuss with children or to fill pockets of time in your day. Last year Omar Suleiman covered Angels in the same format.
3. Mufti Menk: Verses of Hope and Healing
As we settle into our second Ramadan in lockdown, having already passed the one year anniversary of the pandemic, Mufti Menk’s new series is a timely reminder of hope. There is no better way to remember there is light at the end of the tunnel than through verses from the Qur’an.
As Mufti Menk says:
“Many have lost their loved ones, many have lost their jobs their income. Many don’t know what is happening. Many are recovering from COVID. For this reason, this is why I have chosen this theme this Ramadan.”
4. Yasir Qadhi: Qur’anic Gems
A classic from 2015, in the Qur’anic Gems series, Yasir Qadhi selects special verses that help us reconnect with the Qur’an and understand it from a new angle, such as the verse of light from Surah Nur and the importance of showing kindness to our parents. This series will no doubt help you to connect with the Qur’an on a deeper level.
5. Omar Suleiman: Qur’an 30 for 30
Released last year during our first Ramadan in lockdown, Qur’an 30 for 30 features Dr. Omar Suleiman, Sheikh Abdullah Oduro and a guest speaker as they discuss one juz of the Qur’an in around 30 minutes everyday. Season two of the series is out now, along with a free e-book to be used as a companion to the series. Some of the guests on the series so far have included Sh. Mohammad Elshinawy, Sh. Ismail Kamdar, Sr. Najwa Awad and Dr. Tesneem Alkiek.
6. Seekers Guidance: 40 Hadith on Ramadan
In 26 lessons, Ustadh Tayssir Safi covers 40 hadiths on fasting collected by Shaykh Yusuf al-Nabahani. The series focuses on the goals and merits of fasting and will help you to really understand the significance and rewards of Ramadan, perfect if you’re experiencing a mid-Ramadan slump.
7. Yaqeen Institute: Ramadan Strong
Ramadan Strong is another short series by Yaqeen Institute with daily videos that range from 2-5 minutes long. These bite-sized reminders delivered by various scholars discuss Qur’an goals, mindfulness and more. Follow the tips and advice shared in these daily reflections to help boost your iman this Ramadan.
