The worry surrounding infant immigration continues, just two weeks after Trumps administration has encountered a new ‘zero tolerance’ policy. Families from Central America entered the US border and customs facility, a number of catastrophic stories have already been documented of infants being ripped from their mothers whilst breastfeeding. One woman interviewed by CNN relayed she was put in handcuffs for resisting.

Temperatures reached 30 degrees on Monday documented as the hottest day of the year so far, here in the UK. This heat is set to be here until this weekend. The Met Office issued a yellow health warning for heatwave conditions from Tuesday till Thursday evening. The Network rail prompted fears surrounding the heat wave, as the railway tracks could buckle, therefore speed restrictions have been introduced. If you are out and about this week, please do take care, sun block at the ready, hydrate, and less layers!

Whilst lower courts deemed the ban unconstitutional, the US supreme court gets final say, ruling in favour of trumps administration, travel ban targeting people from many Muslim majority countries. The president celebrated the decision on his Twitter account.

Omar Jadwat, director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Immigrant Rights Project said in a statement that the ruling was one of the Court’s “great failures”. Read more about this story here.

Italy has reached a deal with malta, to end the problem surrounding the migrant rescue ship with 230 passengers onboard. The ship had been stranded for five days before the conditions for migrants worsened considerably. A sick passenger needing urgent assistance triggered movement, as the passenger was evacuated to Malta from the ‘Lifeline’ on Monday night.
The ship was deemed an “outlaw ship” from Italy’s Interior Minister Matteo Salvini before the deal with Malta was announced. Elsewhere around 108 migrants have been taken ashore Italy from a Danish container ship. Read more about it here
New reports have emerged regarding the young Thai football team who were caught in a cave, may be alive. Thailand’s deputy PM has said he is “optimistic” they are still alive. The search enters its third day for the group of footballers aged 11 years to 16. The team and their coach entered the cave, Chiang Rai province on Saturday.
Navy divers said to have seen fresh footsteps inside the cave complex, even after rising waters had temporarily halted the search.
